The day, time and length of training session depends on the squad. There is training available Monday to Saturdays. Morning sessions commence at 6:00 am to 7:15 am and afternoon sessions run between 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There are training sessions within these times to suit all squad levels. Squads, coaches and training times are explained further here.

Swimmers are allocated to the squad that best suits their skill level, goals and motivation. The training sessions are structured to give coaches adequate time to train the swimmer and for them to challenge themselves with their peers.

Our Club hosts two competitions per annum. These are a great opportunity for new and emerging swimmers to set their first competition goal.  During summer, our club hosts weekly competitions called Time Trials, so our swimmers and families can familiarise themselves with competitions.

The Club has a diverse range of swimmers representing each squad, including those at International, National, State, regional and district level swimmers.  There is ample opportunity for swimmers to develop their skills or challenge themselves further.

Our coaches are actively encouraging swimmers to extend their capacity.  High achieving swimmers from our club have been selected for the SwimVic Pathways Performance Program, School Sport Victoria (SSV) State Team, the Victorian State Marlin Squad and the National Flippers Squad. Our Club Facebook Page shows many recent success stories.

Everyone is welcome.

We have Come and Try Days every Monday at the Bendigo East Pool.  To register interest for a new swimmer, please send an email to our Membership Officer by using the ‘Come and Try Form’ below.  Our Membership Officer will soon be in contact to organise an assessment for your child/self with our Head Coach. If everything works out, the club will add the swimmer to the appropriate squad.

After Trial Day

We hope that the swimmer enjoyed their first session in the Pool with a Coach.  Please get in contact with the Membership Officer if you have any questions or concerns after the first session.

Not long after a trial, the Head Coach will be in contact to advise you of the best squad for your swimmer.

Then there’s the paperwork.  Swimming has a few registrations and affiliations, so head to our page For New Members to learn more.

BESC aims to be an inclusive club for all participants, their families, and the coaching staff. We expect all involved with the club to adhere to our Club Constitution, policies and procedures
